Code execution via stale Annotation object use
Published Aug 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 15, 2024
Use-after-free in Annotation handling in Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader allows remote attackers to execute code through a malicious PDF. The Annotation-object handler performs operations without first validating that the object still exists, allowing reuse of freed memory. Exploitation requires a victim to open the file or visit a malicious page, and resulting code runs in the context of the current process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
