Settings changes via missing nonce validation
Published May 10, 2024 · Updated Mar 24, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in reCAPTCHA Jetpack 0.2.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to change plugin settings. The settings page accepts posted site_key, secret_key, recaptcha_type, and reset values without generating or verifying a WordPress nonce. An administrator must be logged in and induced to open attacker-controlled HTML; the forged request can replace or reset the reCAPTCHA configuration.
