Stored XSS via unescaped default-item fields
Published May 27, 2024 · Updated Mar 14, 2025
Stored XSS in Metaphor Creations Ditty before 3.1.36 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts into displayed content. The Add New > Add Default editor stores insufficiently sanitized Content, Link, Link Title, and Label values, then renders them without adequate escaping. Administrative access is required, and viewing or reloading an affected Ditty executes the saved script in a visitor's browser even when unfiltered_html is disabled.
