Arbitrary code execution via malformed AVI parsing
Published Sep 11, 2024 · Updated Sep 13, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Adobe Audition 24.4.1 and earlier and 23.6.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via a malicious AVI file. Audition's AVI parser fails to validate user-supplied data before writing it, permitting a write beyond the end of an allocated buffer. Exploitation requires a victim to open the crafted file, and successful code execution runs in the context of the current user.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <=23.6.6
