CVE-2024-39349Network attack vector

Unauthenticated root code execution via unchecked buffer copy

Published Jun 28, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in Synology Camera Firmware before 1.0.7-0298 allows remote attackers to execute code via synocam_param.cgi. The module fails to validate user-supplied data length before copying it into a fixed-length stack buffer. Authentication is not required; exploitation grants root-level code execution on affected BC500 cameras, and Synology also lists TC500 firmware as affected.
