Information disclosure via misordered submission query logic
Published Aug 26, 2025 · Updated Aug 27, 2025
Information disclosure in Mahara 23.04 before 23.04.6 and 24.04 before 24.04.1 allows institution administrators to view restricted submissions. The Current submissions page builds its result SQL in the wrong order, so the institution-scope restriction is not applied before archived portfolios are fetched. An authenticated institution-administrator account and an archived portfolio outside that administrator's scope are required; the resulting exposure is limited to submission information.
