CVE-2024-39318Network attack vector

Authenticated script execution via unescaped upload filenames

Published Jul 31, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

DOM-based XSS in Ibexa Admin UI 4.6.0-beta1 through 4.6.8 allows context-dependent attackers to execute script through upload filenames. The binary-file, image, and media preview scripts assign files[0].name directly to nameContainer.innerHTML without escaping its HTML metacharacters. An attacker must trick an upload-authorized editor or administrator into choosing the file; the nonpersistent payload runs only during that upload.
