Authenticated code execution via unchecked QoS parameters
Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Jan 14, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Wavlink AC3000 M33A8.V5030.210505 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code via HTTP. The qos_sta_settings function reads attacker-controlled cli_list and cli_num POST fields and uses sprintf to place them in a fixed 0x800-byte stack buffer without length checks. Administrator authentication and network access to the router are required; successful input can overwrite the function return address and control execution.
