Reintroduction of patched flaws via firmware downgrade
Published Dec 4, 2024 · Updated Dec 11, 2024
Firmware rollback in Aginode GigaSwitch V5 before 7.06G allows remote authenticated users to install older, vulnerable firmware. The administrative firmware-update function accepts and flashes an older image without enforcing an anti-rollback version check. Administrator privileges are required; the downgrade restores previously patched flaws, enabling device takeover through those flaws.
