Browser script execution via reflected name parameter
Published Nov 29, 2024 · Updated Nov 29, 2024
Reflected XSS in pyspider 0.3.10 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script in a WebUI user's browser via /update. The project_update handler inserts the untrusted POST name parameter into an unknown-field error response without output encoding. Exploitation requires a crafted cross-site POST and user interaction; the resulting script runs with the WebUI origin's access.
