Stored XSS via active document attachments
Published Jul 17, 2024 · Updated Mar 13, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in Roundup before 2.4.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript via crafted attachments. The attachment-serving path rendered attacker-controlled PDF, XML, and SVG content in the browser without controls that blocked embedded scripts. An attacker must be able to attach a document and persuade another user to open it, enabling script execution in that user's Roundup origin.
