Authenticated code execution via password stack overflow
Published Apr 17, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC500 2.0.1.9(1307) allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted password. The R7WebsSecurityHandler for /goform/execCommand accepts the password argument without enforcing the destination stack buffer's capacity. Low-privileged management access is required, and successful exploitation can take control of the appliance or crash its web service.
