Code execution or crash via prototype pollution
Published Jul 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 21, 2024
Prototype pollution in 2o3t-utility 0.1.2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or crash a consuming application. The extend function accepts an attacker-controlled proto property and writes its nested values into Object.prototype, causing unrelated objects to inherit them. Reachability requires a consuming application to pass attacker-controlled objects to extend; code execution also requires a suitable downstream gadget.
