Code execution via unchecked prototype property merge
Published Jul 30, 2024 · Updated Oct 22, 2024
Prototype pollution in ais-ltd strategyen 0.4.0 allows attackers to alter inherited object properties through crafted state data. The helpers.restoreState function accepts an object containing proto and passes its properties into mergeObjects without rejecting prototype keys, modifying Object.prototype. Reachability requires an application to pass attacker-controlled state into the library; resulting property corruption can crash the service or enable code execution when a suitable gadget exists.
