Object prototype modification via unchecked prototype-key input
Published Jul 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Prototype pollution in adolphdudu ratio-swiper 0.0.2 allows remote attackers to alter inherited application properties via crafted input. The extendDefaults and parse functions accept an object containing proto without blocking the prototype key, modifying Object.prototype. Exploitation requires a consuming application to pass attacker-controlled data to either function; code execution, XSS, or service interruption depends on a usable application gadget.
