Stored script execution via unencoded review JSON-LD
Published Jul 9, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in nopCommerce 4.70.1 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in a shopper's browser through a submitted product review. JsonLdModelFactory.PrepareJsonLdProductAsync copies review title and body values into product JSON-LD without JavaScript encoding, so closing script markup is interpreted by the browser. The demonstrated path requires review submission through a customer login and later viewing of the product page, executing the script in that viewer's storefront context.
