CVE-2024-38863Network attack vector

CSRF token disclosure via URL query strings

Published Oct 14, 2024 · Updated Oct 14, 2024

Sensitive query-string exposure in Checkmk before 2.3.0p18, 2.2.0p35, and 2.1.0p48 allows remote attackers to obtain CSRF tokens. Certain navigation URLs mistakenly place the csrf_token value in the query string, allowing browsers to retain it in bookmarks that can later be shared. Exposure requires an authenticated user's navigation and subsequent URL disclosure; the token remains valid for that session and can support targeted phishing against that user.
