CVE-2024-38859Network attack vector

Stored XSS via unescaped SLA titles

Published Aug 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2024

Stored XSS in Checkmk before 2.3.0p14, 2.2.0p33, and 2.1.0p47, plus 2.0.0p39 and earlier, allows remote authenticated users to run scripts. The view page renders attacker-supplied SLA column titles as HTML without proper escaping, preserving injected elements as executable browser content. Another user must clone the malicious user's view; the script then runs in that user's browser and can read or alter data available to that session.
