Phishing via unescaped missing-visual error links
Published Jul 2, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Reflected XSS in Checkmk allows remote attackers to craft links that direct Checkmk users to attacker-controlled phishing content. When a requested view, dashboard, or report does not exist, the visual load-failure path inserts attacker-controlled request input into the error response without escaping it. Exploitation requires a Checkmk user to follow the crafted link; the vendor reports an integrity impact limited to the resulting phishing content.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=2.0.0 <=2.0.0p39
- Affected versionversion=2.1.0 <2.1.0p45
