CVE-2024-3884Network attack vector

Remote denial of service via unbounded form parsing

Published Dec 3, 2025 · Updated Sep 4, 2026

Denial of service in Undertow within Red Hat JBoss EAP 7 and 8 allows remote attackers to exhaust memory with large form bodies. FormEncodedDataDefinition.doParse(StreamSourceChannel) accumulates application/x-www-form-urlencoded data without a size limit until JVM heap is exhausted. Exploitation requires an externally reachable servlet or class to invoke this parser without upper-layer size validation, causing the application server to terminate or become unavailable.
