Authorization bypass via locale-dependent case conversion

Authorization bypass in affected Spring Security releases allows remote attackers to read or alter protected application data. Case-insensitive authorization comparisons convert strings with the JVM's default locale, so locale-specific mappings can make distinct attacker-controlled values match. Exploitation requires an application authorization rule that applies those conversions under a locale with exceptional mappings; successful requests gain only the access governed by that rule.
