Out-of-bounds read via undersized enic netlink attributes
Published Jun 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in the Linux enic driver allows local users to crash affected systems through undersized VF-port netlink attributes. enic_set_vf_port copies fixed-size profile and UUID fields after policy checks enforce only maximum, not exact, attribute lengths. Low-privileged local access must reach the VF-port configuration path on a system using the Cisco enic driver; the resulting over-read can interrupt the system.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
