CVE-2024-38652Network attack vector

Unauthenticated file deletion via unchecked skin path

Published Aug 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 14, 2024

Path traversal in Ivanti Avalanche 6.3.1 through 6.4.3 allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary server files without authentication. The deleteSkin method uses a user-supplied path in file operations without validating that it remains inside the skin directory. A network request can therefore delete files with SYSTEM privileges, causing a service interruption while exposing no direct file-read capability.
