Remote code execution via graphics double-free
Published Apr 16, 2024 · Updated Mar 28, 2025
Double-free in Mozilla Firefox before 125, Firefox ESR before 115.10, and Thunderbird before 115.10 allows remote attackers to execute code. DrawTargetSkia::Mask releases a transient Skia shader reference twice while WebGL canvas graphics are rasterized, leaving SkRefCntBase::unref to access freed memory. Crafted graphics content can therefore crash the application or enable code execution without authentication or user interaction.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <=124
- Affected versionversion=unspecified <125
