Local privilege escalation via unchecked PFN mappings

Memory-safety errors in the Linux ACRN HSM driver allow local users to read or write host memory through crafted VM mappings. acrn_vm_ram_map() checks only the first PTE, accepts refcounted pages without MMU notifiers, and fails to enforce PTE write permission for writable mappings. Access requires a local process able to issue ACRN_IOCTL_SET_MEMSEG on /dev/acrn_hsm in an ACRN Service VM; successful abuse can disclose or corrupt host kernel memory and cause a panic.
