System crash via unchecked wireless station pointer

A null pointer dereference in the Linux kernel mt76 Connac Wi-Fi driver in 6.9 through 6.9.2 allows local users to crash the system. The __mt76_connac_mcu_alloc_sta_req function dereferences wcid to read its sta member on the mt799x path before confirming that wcid is non-null. Low-privilege local access and affected MediaTek mt799x wireless hardware are required; the resulting null dereference can crash the kernel.
