CVE-2024-3860Public exploit

Browser crash via empty JIT shape-list tracing

Published Apr 16, 2024 · Updated Nov 20, 2024

Denial of service in Mozilla Firefox before 125 allows local users to crash the browser after out-of-memory object initialization. ShapeListObject::traceWeak sets the dense-element length on an object using the empty-elements header instead of skipping its empty shape list. The crash requires heap tracing after the exceptional initialization state; no confidentiality or integrity impact is reported.
