Local crash via uninitialized ddp_comp slot
Published Jun 19, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Use of uninitialized memory in Linux kernel 6.7 through 6.8.11 and 6.9 through 6.9.2 allows local users to crash the system. With conn_routes enabled, mtk_drm_crtc_create() leaves an extra ddp_comp array slot uninitialized before mtk_drm_crtc_mode_valid() iterates over it. The affected path requires MediaTek DRM; slub_debug=FZPUA demonstrated the condition, and the bounded consequence is a kernel crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
