CVE-2024-3854Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Memory disclosure via misoptimized switch control flow

Published Apr 16, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in Mozilla Firefox before 125, Firefox ESR before 115.10, and Thunderbird before 115.10 allows remote attackers to read memory. MaybeFoldDiamondConditionBlock accepts a single-successor MTableSwitch as a goto pattern, and UpdateTestSuccessors then casts it to MGoto and interprets its successor buffer pointer as a control-flow target. Exploitation requires user interaction with attacker-controlled active content; Thunderbird disables scripting while reading ordinary email, limiting that delivery path.
