Remote code execution via unchecked message attachment
Published Jul 29, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in Admidio before 4.3.10 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through a message attachment. The messages_send.php upload path stored an attachment without validating its filename or blocking executable PHP extensions. A member-level account and a sent message are required; the resulting publicly reachable PHP file runs commands with the web server's privileges.
