CVE-2024-38494

Authenticated command execution via crafted HTTP request

Published Jul 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

OS command injection in Symantec Privileged Access Management 3.4.6 and 4.1.0 through 4.1.7 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. The vendor identifies a specially crafted HTTP request as the trigger but does not disclose the endpoint, parameter, or unsafe command-building operation. Exploitation requires a high-privileged PAM account and adjacent access; successful requests compromise the appliance and its managed data.
