CVE-2024-38485Network attack vector

Authenticated information leakage via trusted Host header

Published Dec 9, 2024 · Updated Dec 9, 2024

Host header injection in Dell Technologies ECS before 3.8.0 allows remote authenticated users to trigger redirects that leak sensitive information. The Management API trusts the user-supplied HTTP Host header and uses its value for redirections without checking an accepted-server list. Exposure requires low-privileged access through a proxy or load balancer; direct node calls and data operations are unaffected.
