Incorrect validation and crashes via false return
Published Jun 16, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Incorrect return handling in iccDEV before 85ce74e allows attackers to trigger incorrect validation or crashes via crafted profile XML. CIccTagXmlProfileSequenceId::ParseXml populates ProfileSequenceId data but always reports failure, leaving callers to validate an incomplete or inconsistent profile. Processing attacker-supplied XML requires user interaction; upstream evidence demonstrates erroneous results and crashes but does not substantiate code execution.
