CVE-2024-38418

Memory corruption via raced IOCTL memory-map parsing

Published Feb 3, 2025 · Updated Feb 3, 2025

Memory corruption in Qualcomm Snapdragon Camera Linux allows local users to corrupt memory through crafted memory-map data in IOCTL calls. The IOCTL parser checks memory-map information before use, but a time-of-check/time-of-use race permits that information to change after validation. Low-privileged local execution is required, and successful exploitation compromises the affected camera context's confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
