CVE-2024-38375Network attack vector

Request-data disclosure and service crash via stale buffers

Published Jun 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Use-after-free in Fastly js-compute-runtime allows attackers to disclose request data or crash a Compute service through affected host calls. Seven TLS, cache metadata, and device lookup adapters discard the pointer returned by cabi_realloc after enlarging an undersized buffer, then pass the stale pointer to a second host call. Exploitation requires an application built with @fastly/js-compute 3.0.0 through versions before 3.16.0 to invoke an affected API; any disclosure is confined to data from one request.
