Cross-site scripting via unchecked extracted attribute content
Published Jun 19, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Cross-site scripting in affected TinyMCE releases allows remote attackers to execute script through crafted HTML attributes during extraction. NonEditableFilter copied data-mce-content into a raw text node without verifying that the entire attribute value matched every configured noneditable_regexp. Exploitation requires an application to enable noneditable_regexp and extract attacker-controlled content; script then runs in the consuming page's browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=< 5.11.0
