Unauthenticated process crash via unhandled error event

Denial of service in Socket.IO before 2.5.1 and 3.0.0 through 4.6.1 allows remote attackers to crash the Node.js process via a crafted packet. The server-side Socket constructor lacks an error-event listener, so a client-supplied error event reaches EventEmitter and raises an uncaught exception. No authentication or user interaction is required, and a vulnerable server without an application-provided error listener terminates its hosting Node.js process.
