Renderer code execution via duplicate WebAssembly properties
Published Apr 17, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Object corruption in Google Chrome before 124.0.6367.60 allows remote attackers to execute code in the renderer via a crafted HTML page. WasmJs::InstallTypeReflection installs type properties on WebAssembly constructor prototypes without checking for existing properties, creating duplicates that corrupt V8 object layout. A user must visit a malicious page that activates the relevant origin trial; successful exploitation runs attacker code inside the renderer sandbox.
