CVE-2024-38325Network attack vector

Information disclosure via unencrypted sensor CLI requests

Published Jan 27, 2025 · Updated Jan 27, 2025

Missing encryption in IBM Storage Defender Data Resiliency Service 2.0.0 through 2.0.7 allows remote attackers to read sensitive CLI data. The on-premises defender-sensor-cmd CLI sends network requests containing sensitive information over an insecure channel. Man-in-the-middle attackers positioned on the request path can intercept that traffic; IBM reports confidentiality impact only and does not identify the exposed data.
