Information disclosure via unchecked registration server name
Published Sep 24, 2024 · Updated Sep 24, 2024
Improper certificate validation in IBM Storage Defender 2.0.0 through 2.0.7 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to read sensitive data. The on-premises defender-sensor-cmd CLI fails to match the registration or unregistration server name to the presented certificate. Exploitation requires interception of those network operations; the reported consequence is confidential-data disclosure without integrity or availability impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
