CVE-2024-38296

Privileged information exposure via transient execution

Published Nov 22, 2024 · Updated Dec 9, 2024

Information exposure in Dell Edge Gateway 5200 before 12.0.94.2380 allows local users with high privileges to read sensitive data. Transient execution leaves sensitive information exposed through shared microarchitectural structures, but Dell has not identified the responsible instruction sequence or firmware routine. Exploitation requires high local privileges and no user interaction; Dell has not published which information can be recovered.
