Unauthenticated privilege escalation via unchecked path traversal
Published Feb 27, 2025 · Updated Mar 14, 2025
Path traversal in Extreme Networks XIQ-SE before 24.2.11 allows remote attackers to escalate privileges through a crafted path. A missing access-control check permits a crafted pathname to traverse outside its intended directory, although Extreme Networks does not identify the affected endpoint or file operation. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation grants elevated privileges on the management system.
