CVE-2024-38266Network attack vector

Administrator-authenticated thread crash via parameter parser corruption

Published Sep 24, 2024 · Updated Sep 24, 2024

Memory corruption in Zyxel VMG8825-T50K firmware 5.50(ABOM.8)C0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to crash a thread. The parameter type parser fails to restrict operations to the bounds of a memory buffer, permitting crafted parameters to corrupt memory. Exploitation requires administrator privileges over the network and interrupts the affected device thread without reported confidentiality or integrity impact.
