CVE-2024-38257Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated stack disclosure via uninitialized reset header

Published Sep 10, 2024 · Updated Aug 10, 2026

Information disclosure in Microsoft Windows AllJoyn Router Service allows remote attackers to read 36 bytes of process stack data via UDP. SendRst initializes a separate buffer but passes an untouched ArdpHeader structure to qcc::SendTo when rejecting a malformed ARDP session. The AllJoyn Router Service must be active and accepting UDP traffic; it is generally stopped by default but can be activated through its named pipe.
