SYSTEM code execution via device-context release mishandling
Published Sep 10, 2024 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Use-after-free in the Windows Graphics Component allows local users to execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges through local execution. The win32kfull driver incorrectly handles a device context when releasing it, allowing later use of freed memory. Low-privileged code execution on an affected Windows host is required, after which the attacker can take full control as SYSTEM.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
