Settings reset via missing nonce validation
Published May 15, 2024 · Updated Mar 27, 2025
CSRF in mranderson Base64 Encoder/Decoder 0.9.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to reset plugin settings through a forged request. The base64-encoderdecoder administration page accepts a reset POST parameter and resets stored settings without validating a CSRF nonce. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to open attacker-controlled HTML; the demonstrated consequence is limited to resetting plugin settings.
