Reflected script execution via unescaped string parameter
Published May 15, 2024 · Updated Mar 28, 2025
Reflected XSS in Base64 Encoder/Decoder 0.9.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts through a crafted URL. The base64-decode.php endpoint decodes the string query parameter and returns its contents without sanitizing or escaping the page output. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to open the attacker-supplied link; injected script then runs in that privileged user's browser context.
