CVE-2024-3815Network attack vector

Stored XSS via unescaped attachment metadata

Published Jun 15, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Stored XSS in tagDiv Newspaper 12.6.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through attachment metadata. The archive-page renderer accepts user-supplied attachment metadata without sufficient input sanitization and emits it without output escaping. Author-level access is required; injected scripts execute in a visitor's browser when the affected archive page is opened, enabling page-content manipulation and data access within that session.
