OCSP service interruption via undisclosed request handling
Published Jul 9, 2024 · Updated Feb 10, 2026
Denial of service in Microsoft Windows OCSP Server allows remote attackers to interrupt certificate-status responses over the network. Microsoft has not published the malformed request, parser, or resource-handling operation that triggers the service interruption. The Online Responder service must process attacker-supplied OCSP traffic; the documented consequence is availability loss without confidentiality or integrity impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
