Authenticated code execution via file parameter deserialization
Published Jul 9, 2024 · Updated Feb 10, 2026
Deserialization of untrusted data in Microsoft SharePoint Server 16.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. A crafted uploaded file supplies parameters that specialized API requests cause SharePoint to deserialize without adequate trust controls. Site Owner permissions or higher are required, and successful exploitation runs code in the SharePoint Server context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
